It is written in holy texts that the Chav must be 'smited'.
This is a very good weblog. Lots of black humor, sarcasm, and common sense opinion. Keep it up!
I found your weblog by seeing your comment at Tom Harper's "Who Hijacked Our Country?"
With all the attention being paid to Dumbya over here in America, I tend to forget about Tony Blair. The John Cooper Clarke lyrics are fantastic!
I'm also a Smiths fan, have most of their albums in some form, discovered them in 1984 when I was just out of college. IT's all good... do you have favorites? My favorite Smiths album is "The Queen Is Dead" ("Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others", "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"), although their first album is a classic ("The Hand That Rocks The Cradle", "Suffer Little Children")... fantastic guitar textures, great lyrics, an overall great sound. Too much good music to comment about in a blog comment!
Thanks Snave and E.R. commends your excellent taste. I was lucky enough to see the smiths from 1984 until they split... and mozza is great now he's chilled out a bit and plays to the crowd again. As you say too many, too good... great to see there's still a sane American or two out there somewhere... and if not sane then on side!
Thanks, E.R. As an American, I try to be as non-Ugly as possible, especially nowadays. I envy you getting to see The Smiths... I guess Mike Joyce and Johnny Marr are playing music together again? Don't remember where I saw that.
Have you heard The Dears? Definitely not The Smiths, but their lead singer channels Morrisey fairly well. They're from Montreal, I think!
