GET AWAY FROM IT ALL Picture Of The Day:

The government this week introduced a transport bill that will put biometric images on driving licences, and to network CCTV cameras across Britain that recognize biometric images. This will initially be used to trap speeding motorists between different destinations.
Britain already has one CCTV camera for every 12 of the population, higher than any other country in the world.
The House of Lords yesterday again rejected Government plans for compulsory biometric imaging on passports and ID cards, but the bill is still likely to succeed, despite going against a Labour pledge that it would be a voluntary system.
Image pic-nicked from the wonderful www.banksy.co.uk, and used without permission, but lots of respect.

Thank god for the house of Lords.... while it lasts. From what I hear a few grand will get you in there anyhow. And judging by New Labours debts the chances are the price will drop faster than government ministers standards.

Of course being the minster for culture media and sport and married to a witness and beancounter for the Italian media mogul / all but impeached PM, is not a problem is it?
Not in Britain its not. Mind you we are only moaning because we can't get our noses in the Westminster trough. In exchange for private enterprise sticking its arm up your arse and using you like a puppet, you get a good pension. And that is as rare as rocking horse shit nowadays.
Brilliant blog by the way

thank you gentleman hobbs, your contributions are most welcome. I don't think you'll find E.R. currently offer staff a pension, but we're working on it ;-) I've just got to find that privatised arm to shove up my arse... for more on the jowell-mills affair use the term ''jowell'' in the ''blog'' search either at the top or on the right. Cheerio.

This is very surreal. When I read 1984 (which I do every couple of years) I become highly paranoid, even a bit depressed.
Yet in the book, the party starts its surveillence using hidden mics with cameras in the countryside.
I cant help but see the similarities. Your pic has made me mentally ill.

The prince charles diary is fantastic by the way!
